The hype started with Kim Kardashian, then past Bachelorette Emily Maynard blogged about it – and now it’s everywhere .
Ben Nye “Banana” Luxury Powder.
Here is what Sorority Secrets says about it:
“It’s the product behind Kim Kardashian’s perfect face structure, it’s what makes every celebrities’ contour stand out on the red carpet. We all happen to be celebrity news junkies and have always wondered how every celebrity has such beautiful faces. Makeup can only go so far, but why do these women have such beautiful facial structures?
It’s the product that has had all the makeup artists buzzing. The Banana Powder by BenNye is the product that adds that special glow. By simply adding the Banana Powder on the bridge of your nose, your cheek bones, your cupid’s bow, chin, and the center of your forehead and blending it in, it highlights and enhances your natural facial structure. The Banana Powder has been sold out everywhere online since Kim Kardashian’s make up artist publicized that this product is his finishing touch to her perfect face.”
Here is Emily Maynard’s take on it :
“I don’t know about you, but when I put my makeup on in the morning I expect it to last for the majority of the day. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. However, especially in the summer, I’ll look in the mirror halfway through the day and its like I didn’t even put any on. I’ve tried every kind of setting powder, spray, primer there is and haven’t been all that impressed. I wish there was a way to Shellac your face like you can your nails. Kind of gross, but also kind of awesome. Could you imagine only having to do your makeup once a week??
Ben Nye Banana Powder is the closest thing to Shellac that I’ve found and since using it I barely even have to touch up throughout the day. Just be careful because it is very drying, so don’t forget to use a good moisturizer. I like to put a little highlighter on my cheekbones after I do a light dusting of this just so it’s a little less matte. And the best part is its under $15.00! And if you really want your makeup to last all day, finish with a spray of Urban Decay De Slick Setting Spray!”

My thoughts? Its worth buying. It’s cheap, matte, long lasting and it really does brighten the under eye.
